DODGEBALL MILESTONES
CHARITY TOURNAMENT: since 2015, we have been the tournament hosts and producers for the annual After-School All-Stars Las Vegas Dodgeball Tournament. Each year we welcome over 50 teams to compete for a chance to win the annual trophy and walk away as the tournament champions.
MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA: in 2018, we were hired to produce the first ever dodgeball tournament inside the fabled MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The R&D Events team managed every aspect of the tournament including site plans, vendor management, event staffing and tournament execution.
MEMORABLE EVENT: Back in 2014, a client hired us to reproduce the infamous Ben Stiller/Vince Vaugh movie “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” for the 400 attendees of their annual sales kick-off event. It was (at the time) the largest event we had ever produced and to this day it’s still one of the coolest things we have ever produced.

POPULAR DODGEBALL PLAYING SURFACES
SYNTHETIC TURF: when it comes to dodgeball playing surfaces, synthetic turf, especially those found at indoor venues, is king. From traction control to offering a cushioned surface should you fall, it is the perfect surface to host any epic dodgeball battle.
BASKETBALL COURT: basketball courts are one of our favorite, and most popular, surfaces to host dodgeball events on. They offer the perfect balance between grippy surface and relatively forgiving surface should someone take a tumble.
NATURAL GRASS: if hazards like potholes and sprinkler heads can be avoided, then natural grass surfaces are a great choice. The only major obstacle for outdoor venues is creating a backdrop to help corral all of the balls during play. Over the years, we have found success using barricade fencing to help solve that problem.
TENNIS COURTS: once the nets (and poles) are removed, tennis courts are a great option for a dodgeball court and their wrap around enclosers offer the perfect backdrop for corralling rouge dodgeballs.
CONCRETE: it might not be the worst option, but we do not rate concrete very favorably for dodgeball events. The problem is that most concrete surfaces are riddled with cracks, abutments and have a tendency to become extremely slippery when wet.
CARPET: if there was one surface we try and avoid at all cost, it’s carpet. Although it sounds fun, the reality is that most carpets have the tendency to grab the tread of a sneaker, stopping the player unexpectedly, which can quickly lead to injury.

SCOREBOARD: this oversized sign helps teams keep track of their placement, scoring and seeding for the tournament.
DIRECTIONAL SIGNS: these oversized signs help teams quickly locate their court, while also offering branding opportunities.
VELCRO BOARDS: to ensure we can quickly reorder the board, each plank is affixed using Velcro. This allows us to quickly rank teams based on their score.
COURT SIGNS: each court is clearly marked to ensure that the participants can quickly locate where their next game will take place.
SCHEDULE: signage highlighting the event schedule and court assignments can always be found throughout the venue.
REUSEABLE: we prepare signage that can be saved and reused, year-after-year, ensuring we can lessen our footprint.
COMPLIMENTING COLORS: we love using complimenting colors to help accent our clients branding which gets featured in all of our signage activations.
