R&D HISTORICAL PHOTOS
2008: The roots of R&D Events took hold during our days working at The Ritz-Carlton in Lake Las Vegas. We worked together in a department called “Creative Event Services” where we were referred to as the Directors of Fun.
2010: We were in Brian Head, UT, celebrating the success of our company’s first few months with a few powder turns. For the first few years, we would take at least one ski trip together each year as a way to celebrate our success of still being in business.
2011: Every year. we’d always make time to head out to Lake Mead for an “owners meeting” where we would throw up a few rooster tails or throw back a few cold ones as we discussed the future of the company.
2011: Our success in 2010 convinced us that our company had a real future. So in early 2011, we hired a professional photographer to follow us around for a few days and document some of our events. This was us sending off taxis during a Mission: Las Vegas event departing from the Rio.
HISTORICAL EVENTS
2010: Our first check was a whopping $2,000. From this, we cleared around $200. But we didn’t care, we were just stoked to be running our own company and making a profit!.
2010: It was just a simple casino gaming event for 35 people at The Palms hotel in Las Vegas, but it felt like the biggest event in the world at that moment.
2011: Over the years we have built a reputation as the leaders in executing private 5K running races in Las Vegas, and it all started with this one back in 2011 out in Lake Las Vegas.
2011: In the early years, we partnered with Pink Jeep Tours on a custom scavenger hunt we designed for them called Desert Dash. This was our first event out in the Valley of Fire.
2011: Minute to Win It events were all the rage in the early ‘10, and over a span of ten years we probably produced nearly 150 of them. This is a group photo from the first one we ever produced, that to this day is still the coolest one we’ve done.
2011: We have been fortunate to produce a lot of memorable events over the years, but the ones that are truly the most impactful are our Jam Session experiences. This was our very first one, which set the foundation for future experiences.
2011: Care package events were a frequent request in R&D Events early days, especially those benefitting service members. Our first Operation Impact featured an amazing Q&A session with active service members from the Marine Corp.
2012: This was our first “Ultimate Team Challenge” event (now rebranded as Backyard Brawl), which to this day is still one of our most popular events. This one took place in Lake Las Vegas and even featured a custom stadium built using bleachers.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS
2013: For a few years, we partnered with The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to deliver their quarterly Costars event (for their employees). On this event, we created a beach themed obstacle course dressed as lifeguards.
2017: It took a few years, but when we finally attended our first trade show, its safe to say we had the best booth by far. I mean, we had a life size cutout of Chuck Norris you could pose with. What’s cooler than that.
2015: We have been fortunate over the years to travel to several Hawaiian islands in support of our client’s requests. This trip to Maui was by far our biggest event ever on the island and featured an all-star staff from both the mainland and Maui.
2017: For a team outing in 2017, we flipped the script and instead of designing a give back event, we volunteered our time at one.
2012: Fujitsu was one of our biggest clients in the early years and at one of their events they hired NFL coach Jim Harbaugh to come and speak. Before he took off, we wrangled the team together to grab a photo with him.
2015: We took a road trip up to Zion National Park to meet Will and Jim Pattiz, documentary film makers making a short film about the park. R&D Events helped fund the creation of the film, and we wanted to be on-hand to celebrate the occasion.
2016: We were hosting a scavenger hunt that included a challenge in which participants would need to recreate an image using a variety of different costumes and props. This was one of those featured images teams would need to replicate.
2016: We have hosted some legendary Lip Sync Battles over the years, but this one in 2016 was our most memorable. We assembled an all-star cast to host the event and blew the doors off of everyone in attendance.
R&D EVENTS ANNUAL HOLIDAY CARD
2012: We had just finished an amazing Jam Session event and we were all on cloud-9 when the photographer snapped this shot. We ended up using this as our first photo ever posted on social media and when December rolled around, it became an obvious choice for our first holiday card.
2013: With the team ever expanding, we made the decision to stage a photograph and opted for a photoshoot at one of the country’s last remaining Olan Mills Studios. For this card, everyone got to pick their own holiday attire and ridiculous pose.
2014: This year we raided our costume closet and everyone got to pick something random to wear that was 80s inspired. Brian wore it best by replicating his look from our 2013 photoshoot + mullet. He even included his spatula.
2015: The 80s costume look of 2014 was nice, but we took it to the next level with this Backstreet Boys inspired look. What I love most is that Laura, Brooke and Cari were all included in the background as adoring fans.
2016: Looking back, we really took a step back on our holiday card creativity in ‘16. In fairness, this was our busiest season ever and we didn’t have any time to stage anything, so we settled on a quick team photo wearing ugly sweaters.
2017: Knowing we needed to up our game from our 2016 slack job, we raided our costume closet once again and with the help of some giant cut outs of our own faces, we were able to stage another epic holiday photo.
